Matte white glaze creates a satisfyingly soft and satin look. It also feels soft in texture. I dipped this bowl at an angle 2/3 of the way in. After a few minutes of drying, I dipped the bowl from the unglazed side 2/3 in so that there was about a 2" overlap with the already glazed region. This created just a 2" strip of thicker glaze on the bowl. For some reason, that thicker region blushed a faint pink from the glaze fire. This blush effect is due to copper evaporating from nearby pieces that have a copper-based glaze. I wonder why the thicker region of matte white glaze caught the copper blush while the thinner region of matte white glaze did not?
