I first used thin strips of painters tape to create the stripe pattern here. Then I dipped one half of the bowl in matte white glaze and the other half of the bowl with white (glossy glaze) crossing over the matte white maybe two inches. After a few seconds of drying, I finally dipped the rim with rutile pink glaze. I love rutile pink for the variety of colors that it creates depending on the glazes it overlaps and where it covers raw clay.
