The brown glaze here is the iron celadon Amaco glaze used for plate 44 but applied using a different technique. Usually (like with plate 44), I like to pour this glaze over the piece to get a thick layer. However, for this bowl I painted on layers of the glaze which created this lighter matte-like color. I like that the glaze sort of looks like wood.
