I made a series of these shallow bowls because I enjoyed the challenge of figuring out how wide I could open up the bowl while still achieving a standing structure. When the bowl collapsed on itself, I'd know I went to far. The Tuff Buff clay used here creates speckles because of large particles of iron in the clay reacting in the glaze fire.
