Notice on the right side of the first image, the glaze seems to go from creamy yellow from the right to toasty brown. Why does this happen? Because the right side was dipped in first, this creates a decreasing thickness of the glaze going across to the left. The thicker layer of butter scotch glaze is yellow, while the thinner layer allows the color of the dark clay to show through more. The left side of this piece was dipped in a transparent gloss amber glaze.
