I made this set of ramen bowls for a friend and at the time, I had just started to make bowls this large in size. Lots of trial and error to get to these final two! I found that 3 lbs of clay seemed to be the best amount. The initial size of these was 12.5cm tall and 22.5cm wide when I first threw them. After the last glaze fire, they shrunk to about 10.5cm tall and 20.5cm wide. With each new bowl, they seemed to get bigger too.
There's lots of different shape options for ramen bowls, and I like this rounded V-shape because it makes for easier stacking.
These bowls were inspired by Bowl 83.
