Why is contrast so appealing? I dipped the bottom of this bowl with gloss white glaze and the inside as well as top of the bowl with a matte glaze called million $ yellow. The little nook of raw clay in the first picture is due to my finger holding the bowl upside down when I dipped it into the million $ yellow.
