about bowl 37

I almost never use rutile pink glaze on its own but often cross it over other glazes. For this bowl I dipped 2/3 of it in matte white glaze and then dipped the other side with white (glossy) glaze until there was a bare strip of clay between the two glazed sides. After drying a few seconds, I then dipped rutile pink across a part of the bowl where there was matte white glaze, white glaze, and raw clay. The bright blue strip you see is where the rutile pink is over raw clay. #Chemical reactions! (Note: this is one of my favorite glaze combos and you'll see it on several of my pieces)

Firing: Reduction high fire
